Report: Somerset Hit & Run Driver Surrenders To Police

SOMERSET (CBS) - A driver wanted for a hit-and-run in Somerset has reportedly turned himself in.

A woman was struck by an SUV while crossing Route 6 Tuesday night, moments after she left a liquor store.

An eyewitness told investigators the driver slowed down after hitting the woman, but then drove off.

The woman was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Police were looking for a champagne-colored Lexus SUV.

According to WPRI-TV, the driver turned himself in overnight.

No names have been released and no charges have been filed at this point in the investigation.
