SALISBURY (CBS) – A lieutenant was working on a truck at the Salisbury fire station Friday afternoon, when something went wrong.

The veteran firefighter, who is also the station mechanic, was injured when a vehicle fell on him as he worked on it.

He was rescued, and flown by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

His condition is unknown.

All of the other firefighters on duty were sent home because they were devastated by the accident.
