SOMERVILLE (CBS) – Due to heavy traffic, State Police closed the ramp at Exit 29 on I-93 Saturday.
The exit goes to Routes 28 and 38 in Somerville.

The traffic is associated with the "Fast 14" project, in which 14 bridges are being replaced in Medford.

A problem with the Alford Street Bridge in Everett, which was stuck in the upright position, has also contributed to the traffic issue.

It is unclear when Exit 29 will reopen. Travelers are encouraged to avoid this area of I-93.
