Helicopters Spraying For Mosquitoes In Walpole

WALPOLE (CBS) - The Norfolk County Mosquito Control Project continued its pre-emptive assault on mosquito population Friday.

A helicopter dropped the pesticide biorational larvicide bti (Bacillus thruringiensis israelensis) on wetlands in Walpole to kill off mosquito larvae.

Standing water from all the snow this past winter is serving as prime breeding ground for the mosquito population.
Residents may go to the project website to see the spring wetland locations for these aerial applications.

Summer wetland locations will also be posted as necessary.
