Big Hole Shuts Down Ramp From Boylston To Comm. Ave.

BOSTON (CBS) - The ramp that takes drivers from Boylston Street down to Commonwealth Avenue reopened after it was shut down for several hours Friday morning because there's a big hole in the road.

WBZ-TV's Jim Smith reports from Boston

The hole is about a foot wide and approximately 12-14 feet long. It runs from one side of the ramp to the other.

State Police say no cars have been damaged and no one was hurt. The debris fell into the Muddy River below the ramp.

Steel plates were put over the hole until more permanent repairs could be completed.  Those repairs were expected to take place Friday night after the rush hour commute.
