My wife and I travel that section of road every morning. People fly up and down that road trying to beat the traffic light. Most wind up going through the red light I agree with merlin215 it’s amazing that more people aren’t killed or seriously injured.

  4. Alicia says:

I agree with mike and merlin. People go way to fast to beat that light, and then when it gets down to one lane and the speed gets up to 50…they’re so distracted and rushed to get to their destination that they cross over the double yellow line…I can’t count how many close calls I’ve had when I travel down that stretch.

A few days ago a car passed me on the right on a small dangerous road with barely enough room to get in front of me. No warning, just wanted to be in front of me though there were many other cars ahead. I could not fathom why anyone would do such a dangerous thing, and followed the car to ask why. The driver eventually stopped at the police station. Our statements were taken – she was cited with an illegal lane change for $100; I was cited with following too closely for $20. Of course I was too close since there was barely any room for her to get in front of me and this was clearly retaliation. I intend to appeal because THESE THINGS NEED TO STOP. Sometimes one does have to take the law into one’s own hands and this is a battle I choose. Maybe I can change one person’s mind. I feel awful for the families who lost loved ones in this incident.

Dana… If I’m not mistaken there is a $25.00 fee to contest the Ticket…For a $20.00 ticket it might not make sense. I would check with my Insurance agent though,If there is a surcharge for the violation you could save Hundreds if you are found not responsible by the Clerk.

Randy, Sorry if I offended you. I only meant to say that I want this never to happen. I can’t change the past but I can try to change the future. I hope you feel better soon.
