DENNIS (CBS) — Police on Cape Cod are hunting for the person who hit a pedestrian in Dennis and took off.

It happened on Main Street around 1 p.m. Saturday.

The victim, 22-year-old Domingo Texeira, of South Dennis, was thrown into a ditch in the area of Old Bass River Road and Main Street, but managed to call police with his cell phone.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Kim Tunnicliffe reports.

He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to recover.

The Dennis Police Department asks that anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash to call them at 508-394-1313.
