READING (CBS) – Homeowners watched as the roof on their Marla Lane home collapsed Thursday afternoon.

Police say the residents first noticed the roof had a big bow in it, and were walking around the property inspecting the damage when the roof came down.  The back of the home reportedly suffered the most significant damage.

There were no injuries, but the home is uninhabitable at this time.

WBZ News Radio 1030’s Bernice Corpuz has the report in Reading.

WBZ-TV’s Beth Germano reports.

Reading Police say they have been out on other structure concern calls since the latest snowfall, however this is the first collapse they have seen.

It’s like parking a couple cars up there. I have a flat roof, so I’ve shoveled twice this year. This one doesn’t even look like a flat roof. Crazy winter we’re having.

wow….sorry for them. I am actually surprised that it hasn’t happened to more private homes….thankfully. I shoveled my roof as best I could the other day, but I still have a few areas I couldn’t reach. That isn’t always a possibility for older people though. scary that more snow and rain is on the way.
