Two Trucks Collide In Mass. Pike Tunnel
BOSTON (AP) - The Prudential Tunnel on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston has reopened after a crash involving two tractor-trailers.
State police said the accident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the westbound side of the tunnel, but no injuries were reported and there was no fuel spill in the tunnel.
The tunnel was closed for a time, causing massive traffic backups. All lanes were later reopened.
State police are also investigating a crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 495 southbound in Franklin that seriously injured the 19-year-old driver of an SUV.
Police say the vehicle hit a snowbank while entering the highway, then rolled over and was struck by a tractor-trailer.
The injured woman was taken to a Rhode Island hospital.
