Graphic Video Evidence Allowed In Boy's Uzi Death

SPRINGFIELD (CBS/AP) - A judge in Springfield decided Tuesday that jurors will be allowed to see graphic video of a child's deadly gun accident.

The video in question shows 8-year-old Christopher Bizilj as he lost control of an Uzi submachine gun at a gun exposition in Westfield two years ago. The weapon flipped backwards, shooting Christopher in the head.

Edward Fleury, the former police chief of Pelham, owns a company that sponsored the gun fair. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and furnishing a machine gun to a minor.

Jury selection began Tuesday, after the judge's ruling.

Christopher Bizilj attended the gun show with his father, who was standing nearby at the time of the shooting.

Under Massachusetts law, children can fire a rifle or shotgun with parental permission, and under the supervision of a certified instructor. It is not legal for a child to fire a machine gun.
