Head to the Prudential Center on Saturday, December 4 and help break a world record. Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops are trying to break a record for the largest group of holiday carolers. Meet at the Boylston Plaza at noon. The singing will begin at 12:30 p.m. And here's a bonus: Free hot chocolate.

On Sunday, Dec. 5, snack on free latkes at the "Everyone Loves Latkes" celebration in Harvard Square. More than 500 latkes will be served up between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
NEW ENGLAND AUTO SHOW

New England's largest auto show is at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center through Sunday. Check out the new 2011 models, a motorcycle or classic car display. New this year all electric vehicles will be represented with the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. Open Friday 12-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission in $12 for adults, $6 for kids, and under 6 get in free.

If you've never seen the holiday lights at La Salette, it's worth the visit. Their ten acre property is illuminated by more than 350,000 lights. Access to the grounds is free. On weekends, for a few dollars you can choose tour the grounds on a heated Christmas Trolley, a holiday hayride, or ride their Christmas carousel.

Head to the North Shore Theatre in Beverly to see 'A Christmas Carol.' This is the first time the show can be seen at the theater since 2007. The show begins on Friday, Dec. 3 and runs through Dec. 23.
