Fund Set Up For N.H. Woman Robbed, Assaulted

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- The Manchester Police Department set up a fund for an elderly woman who was shoved to the ground and had her purse stolen in a parking lot in the New Hampshire city on Sunday afternoon.

The 87-year-old woman wishes to remain anonymous, but through police says she is grateful for the kindness to the community.

The woman told police she had just parked her car in a handicapped space at the Rite Aid on Mammoth Road and was walking toward the store when a man shoved her to the ground, grabbed her purse and ran away.

She suffered injuries to her face, forehead and lower left leg. She said all of her monthly bill money was stolen.
