Couple drowns after falling into NH river

The New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game says the investigation into the drowning of a couple who fell into the Swift River in Albany is complete and they're calling the case a tragic accident.

An investigation found that 55-year-old Dale Morris of Soldotna, Alaska, slipped and fell into the river in the White Mountains at about 11 a.m. Saturday. He was holding a camera above his head when his wife, 58-year-old Camille Morris, came to help. She then slipped on the same rock.

Fish and Game Lt. Jim Goss says they were both then swept into the river at Lower Falls, a scenic area popular for fall foliage viewing. Their bodies were recovered downstream.

Goss says the water was higher than usual because of Friday's storm.
