Igor bearing down on Bermuda
A weakened Hurricane Igor is bearing down on Bermuda with an expected strike sometime tonight.
It's been downgraded to a Category 1 with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph. Still, big waves are already pounding Bermuda's beaches while islanders rush to complete their final preparations. Residents are rushing to board up windows, fill sandbags and stock up on water, food and other supplies.
Tourists left in droves but some who didn't will have to ride it out because there are no more flights out. The hurricane is expected to pass directly overhead or nearby late Sunday or early Monday, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami.
