NH worker killed in paper roller machine accident
Firefighters say a worker at a Claremont, N.H., paper company was killed after being pulled through a paper roller machine.
They say 34-year-old Leo Gonyea of Enfield was found under the machine by a co-worker at APC Paper Co. at about 8:50 a.m. Monday. Fire Chief Peter Chase says when rescue crews arrived, Gonyea was out of the machine, but suffering from cardiac arrest. He was taken to Valley Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a little after 10 a.m.
Chase said it's not clear how Gonyea became trapped in the machine. Officials with the New Hampshire office of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are at the scene investigating.
