NFLPA Director Sends Memo to Players

NFLPA director DeMaurice Smith

NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith sent a memo to players and their agents on Tuesday saying that it is unlikely that a new collective bargaining agreement will be reached and the upcoming season will likely be played without a salary cap.

If a new deal is not signed by the March 5 deadline, the NFL will have its first uncapped season since 1993. In the memo, Smith names Patriots owner Robert Kraft as one of the owner representatives that have attended bargaining sessions. There is another general bargaining session scheduled for Thursday at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

The Full text of the memo is available here.
