The winter of 2015 brought record-setting snow to New England, and it also produced some unforgettable images. A photographer walking a Nantucket beach spotted waves that "looked like a big Slurpee rolling ashore," and the incredible pictures he captured went viral. A lot of people took shots at the Patriots over the DeflateGate scandal. But CBS Boston's Michael Hurley called out a Sports Illustrated writer's claims that may have been the most absurd of all. 1795 Time Capsule Buried By Sam Adams, Paul Revere Opened In Boston

The oldest time capsule in America was opened in Boston in January. Personally placed in the State House by Paul Revere and Sam Adams themselves, the 220-year-old treasure contained newspapers, coins and Revere's silver. It was later re-buried back in the State House for future generations to uncover. Read More.

The Blizzard of 2015 in late January kicked off what would be a nightmarish winter for Massachusetts. Several communities recorded three feet of snow, while Boston broke the record for greatest January snow from one storm. Read More.

Now this is a true winter wonderland. An acre-sized ice castle opened again in Lincoln, New Hampshire in January. It's one of only four in the country featuring archways, tunnels, an ice slide and glacial waterfalls. Read More.

Slush waves weren't the only amazing sight from last winter. The extraordinary amount of ice in Massachusetts Bay left huge chunks of ice on Cape Cod beaches that reminded many of icebergs. Read more. 

'Baby Doe' Identified As Boston Girl; Mother & Boyfriend Arrested

Who was Baby Doe? That's what everyone wondered for months after a little girl's body was found in a trash bag on Deer Island in June. The mystery ended in September when authorities identified the young victim as Bella Bond, and arrested her mother and her mother's boyfriend. Read More.
