THE DEFENSE

Q: Which neighborhood do you live in?

A: Newton Center, Massachusetts, 02459.

Q: How old are you?

A: Thirty-one.

Q: What made you get this car?

A: I wanted something that was fun and on a practical side, decent gas mileage.

Q: It gets good mileage?

A: It's 31 miles per gallon on the highway.

Q: Where did you get it and how was the experience?

A: Imperial Ford in the little town of Mendon. They were great. I walked in and said, "This is the car. These are the options I want. Please order it. I'll be back to pick it up." A few months later they called and told me it was in.

Q: What is this car's primary use?

A: It used to be my commuter car, but I take the T now. It takes me to the gym. It takes me to see family. I've taken it drag racing too.

Q: Really? How did you get into that?

A: I just thought, why not? Let's go up to New Hampshire and do it.

Q: How do you get to drag race?

A: You go up. You pay twenty dollars. They give you a bracelet. They inspect your car, pass you, then you go line up.

Q: How many times have you raced?

A: Twice so far. I'm going again this weekend or next.

Q: Have you ever won?

A: I've beat people.

Q: Is this your dream car?

A: This is the first car I've ever bought. I started looking around and thought, this is what I absolutely want.

Q: Where is the furthest you've gone in the car?

A: Long Island or New Jersey. I'm originally from Long Island.

Q: What else is cool about this car?

A: The whole entire roof is glass.
