Boston's Best Valentine's Day Bars For Singles

Valentine's Day comes but once a year and while you may not feel like being single is a big deal, there are plenty of reasons your feelings could change on Feb. 14. With your friends all making romantic plans for special getaways and intimate dinners, you may be left stuck feeling like you're the only single person in the world. The truth is, however, that you're not. Rather than stay home alone, why not head out to a bar and mingle with other singles? Below you will find five of the best bars to head to if you're not coupled up.

Drink is a Boston-area hot spot known for their cocktails. The cozy bar gets packed fairly quick (there is often a substantial line at the door), but if you get there early enough (say before 8 p.m.), you shouldn't have a problem grabbing a seat. It's the perfect place to go and enjoy yourself and forget about the outside world for a while.

This bar is easily a favorite in the city of Boston. Its Beacon Hill location makes it an ideal spot to pop in and stay a while. Locals enjoy grabbing drinks at 21st Amendment because it's a "neighborhood bar" with a warm feel. It is a spot where you automatically feel like you belong, even if you come without a companion. There isn't any pressure here, so you can feel free to sit back and relax, and not worry about being "alone."

If you are in the Back Bay area and you're looking for a spot to unwind this Valentine's Day, head to City Bar. This self-proclaimed "chic" cocktail bar is unassuming and offers a super chill spot to have a cocktail or two. With the relaxed atmosphere, you won't be inundated with couples sharing kisses here, so it's a safe bet for Valentine's Day.

250 Northern Ave.
Boston, MA 02210

Temazcal is easily one of the best spots in the city. The views of the waterfront are pretty incredible, even if it's chilly outside. The bar area is a great place to mingle, and the margaritas are to die for. This is a great place to come with a group and socialize with other patrons. The atmosphere is super cool, the staff is friendly and the food is pretty good, too. And who knows who you'll meet while mixing and mingling?

Empire Restaurant

Empire
1 Marina Park Drive
Boston, MA 02210
(617) 295-0001

While Empire might be filled with couples on their restaurant side, the bar area is a super chic place to hang out and meet people. Whether you just want to grab a drink and some sushi with a friend or you want to take over a couch with your squad, Empire is a great place to do both. If you choose to come here, be sure to dress a little upscale for the night, as at least "business casual" attire is encouraged. Plus, hey, you just might catch someone's eye.
