Whether you made the choice to eat gluten free or have to do so because of an allergy, Boston restaurants are making it much easier to dine out. From vegan and vegetarian selections to actual separate gluten-free sections on the menu, there are many options on the menus at these local spots. Gluten-free pasta, pizza, French and Cambodian specialties and much more make you forget you have a different diet than the average person, while visiting these favorite local eateries.

For Asian fusion at its finest, head to Myers + Chang in the South End. What makes this restaurant so special is how considerate it is of those with allergies or special diets, yet it also appeals to the palates of all other diners as well. Myers + Chang has menu choices for those that eat kosher-only options or have shellfish allergies, as well as nut-free dishes, vegetarian selections and a wide range of gluten-free dishes. Standouts on the gluten-free lunch menu include edamame and celery slaw with sesame oil and candied lemon or the chicken and broccoli chow fun featuring rice noodles, gailon and tellicherry peppers. For dinner, it has creamy carrot ginger soup as a delicious starter and a variety of seafood dishes amongst the entrees, including wok-charred octopus or the roasted salmon which includes cucumbers, cilantro and crispy shallots.

Right near Fenway, Elephant Walk combines the flavors of Cambodia along with French influences. This family owned and operated restaurant has been serving up award-winning dishes for over 20 years. It has a gluten-free menu with a long list of options within it. Highlights include the amok royal, which is a Cambodian signature dish. It's a spicy recipe that pairs crab, shellfish and Asian grouper with coconut milk and complex khmer seasonings, along with a burst of flavor from its cilantro and red bell pepper garnish. Also the s'gnao mouan Cambodian chicken soup will hit the spot or the avocat kanthor with its flavorful combination of tuna, avocado, lemongrass, shallot and mint along with galangal tuk trey with peanuts.

With its sign outside proudly announcing that it serves gluten-free options, guests are already encouraged to make a stop into the restaurant that's sure to be inviting. Dig into the salads, gluten-free pasta, pizza and even sip on one of the gluten-free beers. There are plenty of specialty pizzas to choose from including one with vodka sauce, a white cheese pizza or a simple margherita pizza. Or just create your own favorite combination of ingredients on the regular cheese and sauce-filled pizza on gluten-free crust.
