Best Upcoming Conventions Near Boston

The fall is one of the most popular seasons to visit Boston. No one seems to know that better than convention organizers. This year, Boston residence and everyone nearby will have the chance to explore and celebrate subjects from women's issues to the latest in apple technology at day or weekend-long conventions that surround people with the subjects that are most important to them. It's also the best time of year to visit the city with all of the colors of fall in full bloom. Here's a look at some of the best upcoming conventions near Boston.

Architects unite at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center at 415 Summer St. Nov.17-19. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., architects gather at the largest building industry event in the northeast. The three-day convention showcases local vendors, including Boston Granite Exchange, General Safety Services and Horner Millwork. Entrance to the exhibit hall is free, but workshops are available for an added cost.

On Dec.10, the Massachusetts Conference for Women will be held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. With an estimated 9,000 attendees this year, the convention runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $185. This year's conference will include discussions on paid maternity for a year and ways the U.S. Women's World Cup win makes the world a better place. Keynote speakers this year will feature health and wellness, fashion, business and legal experts.

From Nov. 20-24, the Boston Career Forum 2015 will be held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. More than 4,000 attendees are expected to attend this year. The forum is geared for those who are bilingual in English and Japanese or have the ability to conduct business in English and Japanese. This is one of the best showcases of career opportunities for Japanese-English bilinguals and allows companies to meet with candidates firsthand.

The Society of Arts and Crafts is hosting its annual CraftBoston holiday event at the Hynes Convention Center Dec. 11-13. There are more than 150 exhibitors expected to attend this year's event, which is expected to draw 1,000 attendees. From artisans to craft enthusiasts, the event offers a great way to get some holiday planning ideas, view handmade creations and support local crafters. From Nov. 16-18, the iPad Summit returns to Boston's Hynes Convention Center with an approximate 1,000 people expected to attend this year. The event will feature keynote speakers like Guy Kawasaki, former "chief evangelist" of Apple and MIT lecturer Justin Reich. Workshops will be open to guests looking to learn more about iPads in the elementary school classroom, unleashing student creativity. A one-day conference pass is $280.
