Sometimes, the late-night scene can become a little stale, even for the most adventurous of party animals. There are only so many bars and pubs one can visit for a weekend bender before the whole affair begins to blur together into one big alcohol-fueled haze. Luckily, there are plenty of late-night options within the area of Boston’s MetroWest that serve as alternatives to the whole “bar scene” which can amuse and entertain with just as much unpredictability as any bar or pub within the area’s ever-vibrant nightlife.

The life of a struggling young adult is often filled with two overwhelming feelings: poverty and hunger. Luckily, Nick’s Pizza can assist even the most frugal of folk with the latter of these feelings, offering an affordable menu of pizza and sides late in the evening and beyond. This spot also serves as a nice meeting place for a bite and good conversation with a friend. Pizza is regarded as one of the best foods out there in which to drown one’s melancholy sorrows, and Nick’s has it covered from crust to crust.

With cupcake culture snowballing across the country, this small but mighty confectionery has quickly gained steam as one of the trendiest desserts out there for obsessed fans of all ages. That being said, it sort of makes sense that the Treat Cupcake Bar would open up shop in Needham and Natick, feeding suburban sweet teeth throughout the evening and late into the night via its delivery system, which ensures that any party can be properly stocked with yummy, delicious cupcakes. This is a “bar” of a different sort; a jolly little joint which celebrates the mighty cupcake in tried, true and trendy style.

Let’s face it, no one, not even the most delusional among us, eats Chinese takeout for their weekly dose of health-conscious vittles. Nay, takeout is comfort food for most, with said “comfort” factor working on an exponential level when consumed late into the evening. Dragon Chef serves as one of Waltham’s only late-night destinations for food and non-bar-related socializing, which makes this otherwise unassuming joint a go-to for thrifty locals and hungry night owls who aren’t exactly concerned about their caloric or sodium intake.
