It can be a tough time for that under-21 crowd, looking in on all of the bars and clubs that make up the Boston area’s vibrant nightlife scene. While tracking down a cool spot to to hang out on the town could prove challenging for those under the legal drinking age, there are options out there south of Boston that provide plenty of opportunities for a great time, exploring much of what nightlife has to offer the curious and determined.

Roxy Providence
79 Washington St.
Providence, RI 02903

The Roxy Club in Providence has long catered to the city’s 18+ crowd, offering up a night of dancing and flirting with an atmosphere and ambiance which rivals that of the area’s typically 21-and-over establishments. As such, the Roxy can often prove quite crowded on any given night, but this just adds to the energy and excitement for what ultimately adds up to one of the city’s most dance-centered nightclubs. So, if shakin’ it under the sweaty house lights sounds appealing, the Roxy is a no-brainer.

Just outside and south of Boston is a longtime area favorite for the speed-hungry, F1 Factory Racing. F1 provides suitable nighttime fun for all ages on its go-kart track, making this spot a perfect destination for bachelor parties, birthday celebrations or just for the heck of it. Preparation for F1’s extremely hot race track is key. In other words, bring a change of clothes.

Ultra the Night Club
172 Pine St.

Providence, RI 02903
(401) 454-5483

Club Ultra in Providence tries its best to replicate the sort of Jersey Shore-style nightclub experience for the 18+ dance-fiend crowd, and, as such, does an admirable job catering to both sides of the under- and over-age spectrum. Crowds and the occasional physical altercation, albeit quickly handled by bouncers, are an unfortunate by-product of this high demand, yet Club Ultra’s dedication to hip hop and reggae music should satisfy fans of these styles and their burning desire to get down on the dance floor.

Although the under-21 crowd won’t be able to indulge in any of Twin River’s alcoholic activities, this Lincoln, Rhode Island-based casino luckily offers enough options for those aged 18 and over to enjoy a fun night out. Comedy shows, live musical performances and, of course, Twin River’s slot machines and card games are all tucked away in an conveniently sized building unlike many of the area’s mega-maze casinos.
