The history of Peaceful Meadows dates back to the 1960s when it began as a local dairy farm providing milk to area residents. It later added an ice cream stand. Today it is still loved for the house-made delicious ice cream at its three locations. It’s open all year round from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., so you can almost always satisfy a sweet tooth with everything from Reese’s pieces sundaes to maple walnut ice cream, amongst the many offerings.

Oxford Creamery’s roots date back to 1931, when it opened as Gulf Hill Ice Cream. With a menu filled with local favorites like fish and chips or lobster rolls, you have to remember to save room for dessert. Order up a banana split to share or your favorite ice cream flavor with sprinkles, a frappe or a freeze. Oxford Creamery is seasonal, so you’re out of luck in the winter time.
