Here, Kate shares her top tips for throwing a Super Bowl Party. Get ready for game time!

Stock The Bar

Stock the bar with your usual game-day drinks like plenty of beer and cider for gluten-free guests, but add some sparkling waters and homemade simple syrups too, so that guests who have to drive home can enjoy some mocktails — don't forget, it's Sunday night, so most of your guests will have to work in the morning! Team colored straws are also a fun touch to pair with cocktails or mocktails.

Bring The Game Home

Bring a little bit of the football field right into your living room and purchase AstroTurf by the yard from a local home improvement store to use as a table runner on your snack buffet, and cut small pieces out to use as coasters on the coffee table. Guests may be expecting football shaped snacks, but the AstroTurf will absolutely surprise and impress.

Pace The Snacks

Pace yourself, it's a long game! Put out half of your appetizers at the beginning of the game for guests, and then replenish chips and dip and introduce a second round of hot appetizers at half-time to keep everyone satisfied. Prep ahead of time by making sure there is plenty of room in the refrigerator for "on-deck" snacks, and maybe even grab some disposable to-go containers so friends can share in the leftovers at the end of the night.

Set Up A Food Station

Looking to serve more than just snacks? Set up a self-serve themed food station like a chili bar, a baked potato bar, a make your own sandwich station — it will keep everyone well fed and you won't miss a minute of the game!  Build-your-own style stations are great for large groups because picky eaters can choose their toppings and people who are still working on their New Years Resolutions can choose their own portion sizes!

Be Ready For Serious Football (And Commercial) Fans

Hardcore fans don't want to miss a minute of the game. Set up an iPad near the food or bar and steam the game on mute so guests can catch each play while they're replenishing their plates and drinks. Make sure it is fully charged!
