St. Patrick’s Day is nearly upon us. Yesterday we gave you a great recipe for Colcannon Gratinée. Today, you’re going to need something to wash that down. We reached out to Olive Towey, one the bartenders at the Irish bar MJ O’Connors in the Park Plaza and asked her for something green with Irish Whiskey in it. She came back with the Paddy’s Apple.

The Paddy’s Apple

1 oz Paddy’s Irish Whiskey
1/2 oz of apple pucker
Splash of fresh sour mix

Serve straight up and topped with cherry.

Olive Towey has been with The Briar Group for 16 years. She is a staple behind the bar at MJ O’Connor’s for the last almost 14 years. A team player with the best attitude, Towey always has a smile and enjoys showing up for work every day. She was the Massachusetts Restaurant Association’s bartender of the year in 2007. Towey has a very large following of regulars both young and old who come in to see her often.
