Cozy Bars And Restaurants

Too cold to spend time outside? Enjoy the warmth and soft light of Boston's best restaurants and bars. One of the town's coziest bars is 21st Amendment in Beacon Hill. This old school pub is the perfect place to grab a pint and warm up on even the coldest days of winter. Another cozy spot is Ward 8 near North Station. The chef there takes an amazing perspective on comfort food that turns your old favorites into something new. Those are just two out of many amazing restaurants that will keep the winter chill away.

World-Class Museums

Another great activity to avoid bad weather is to visit some of Boston's museums. The Museum of Fine Arts, The Museum of Science, The Institute of Contemporary Art and the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum are all world-famous museums that are easily accessible via public transportation — which means there is no reason to shovel off the car! The museums alone are worth a trip to Boston any time of year. Plus, many of them offer free admission on certain days of the week, which makes a winter trip to Boston much more budget friendly.

Sports, Sports, Sports

Everybody knows that Boston is the city of champions! New Englanders take their professional sports teams very seriously, so there is no better place to catch a game than Boston. The Celtics and the Bruins play right in the city, so a great winter activity is to take the train into town, get dinner and then catch the game and cheer along with the locals. The Patriots play outside of Boston in a suburb called Foxboro. Though the stadium is a bit further away, Patriots fans are among the most spirited, so definitely try to make it out to Gillette while in town.
