Cold Blustery winds will dominate on Sunday. A shortwave is diving SE from the Great Lakes and will help to steer mid level clouds into the region this afternoon, sun fading behind increasing PM clouds. Highs will […]
Despite a cold frontal passage today, the immediate post-frontal air mass will be summer-like with high temperatures reaching the lwr-middle 70’s in many locations, with the exception of the Cape and Islands where winds off the water will keep temperatures closer to 70. Average highs this time of year are around 60 degrees, so we’ll be 15 degrees above normal to start the weekend! Southwest winds will be breezy at 10-20mph.
The closer to the coast you are, the drier you will be thanks to high pressure off shore. Despite a little light rain early, a good portion of the day should remain dry with temps in the mid 70’s. Hard to completely rule out showers completely today for eastern sections…as a few showers could break off the main batch out west from time to time. Either way, a cloudy, humid and tolerable Sunday if you have to be outdoors in eastern MA.
Building high pressure this weekend will wrap in drier air along with cooler NNE winds and return temperatures to more seasonal levels for this time of year. A weak front is pushing off the coast this morning. This came with a few light sprinkles or showers overnight and a deck of mid level clouds which is eroding away this morning.
High pressure parked over the Ohio Valley is steering in cold dry weather from Canada. Plenty of Sunshine today with highs in the Upper 20’s and Lwr 30’s. An Arctic front pushes through tonight and the real cold air gets on the move. Arctic air will settle in after midnight with clear skies and calm winds. Lows will drop below zero in interior valleys while hover near 10 degrees at the coast.
