Wakefield, Varitek Done With Red Sox?

Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington said he has spoken to both Tim Wakefield and Jason Varitek about 2012, but it does not sound like either are in Boston’s future plans.


Papi was scorching in August, leading the Sox with a .411 average and eight homers in only 20 games. He drove in 20 runs while striking out just 14 times.

Red Sox Offer Arbitration To Ortiz, Wheeler
