Dry high pressure to our north will give us some morning sunshine, but it will be fading behind increasing high -mid level clouds during the day. Highs will climb into the 40′s to near 50 in many areas this afternoon under partly sunny skies. Skies will end up being brighter across the north, with more in the way of clouds streaming through SNE thanks to a batch of showers just off our South coast. Winds will shift to the NE this afternoon then to the SE tonight as clouds will continue to thicken with an approaching warm front.
After midnight towards daybreak I expect the rain to become most steady with the warm front directly over southern New England at the crack of dawn. Morning showers will linger through the late morning along the coast. Showers will be mainly over by afternoon. NNW winds will lock in low clouds and a cool feel especially north and NW of Boston where highs will only be in the 30′s and Lwr 40′s. South of Boston highs will climb into the mid -upper 40′s with the passage of the warm front in the afternoon.
Steady Showers are being directed up the CT river valley for the morning hours with lighter showers across eastern MA. By afternoon, the steady showers in the west will begin to shift eastward for the afternoon and evening.
High pressure is parked off the coast today providing abundant sunshine, sparkling blue skies and a very pleasant fall feel. Light winds from the SE will keep it slightly cooler at the coast this afternoon as most areas will climb to 60-65. A beautiful seasonal airmass for this time of year.
A widespread killing freeze is likely overnight with many areas spending a few hours in the 20′s around dawn Saturday. After a frosty cold and clear start, Saturday will be filled with sunshine with highs around 50-55. Temps running below normal, but light winds in the sunshine will make for a very nice afternoon.
Look for a breezy mix of sun and clouds Monday. A few instability showers may pop across the north where there will be lingering clouds along with the upper low which will continue to pull away. Partly to Mostly sunny skies in the south with highs climbing into the upper 60′s and Lwr 70′s. Winds could gust to 30-35 mph with SW winds tomorrow .
Sunday will remain dry with filtered sunshine with highs climbing into the 70′s near 80 with a cooling sea breeze. But, lows are still expected to drop into the 50′s tonight.
Morning showers are shifting to the coast this morning. Showers are extending from the North Shore into CT along a stalling front which has pushed just south of Boston and will become hung up across SE MA during the afternoon. Severe weather is not likely in this unseasonably cool airmass, with cloudy damp conditions & light variable winds. Morning showers will begin to wind down during the late morning into the midday with still plenty of cloud through the lunch hour.
it’s a muggy morning across the region with abundant cloud cover with breaks of hazy sunshine. We can expect a warm humid Saturday with mostly dry conditions for most in the morning. By the afternoon, the atmosphere will begin to pop again with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Clouds are locked in for the rest of the day with Light NE winds keeping temps in the Lwr 70′s inland and even 60′s to near 70 at the coast. Showers inland with drizzle and fog at the coast.
