Recently previewing a handful of new songs from their upcoming album, ‘Rewind,’ the guys in the band took some time to talk about their collective love of sports, particularly football.
The breakout band riding high on the success of “Best Day of My Life” have few ideas of musicians who’d make great athletes, including Fall Out Boy drummer Andy Hurley.
“There are two kinds of seasons for me: football season and waiting for football season,” the Charleston, South Carolina native said.
“I think the joy of being able to use one’s body and sports are super beneficial on a lot of levels, especially for young men,” says the Sugarland and solo country music singer.
A native of the tiny town of Kennett, Missouri, Nail’s well-documented love of sports is a very close second to music in his heart, always rooting for teams that hail from his home state.
While his beloved Bears were knocked out of the playoffs by the Packers, the country star still dreams of the Chicago team winning the Super Bowl.
Before he became a pop star, McCoy grew up in the small town of Geneva, New York, where he was a burgeoning young athlete who now believes that being a fan of the New York Giants NFL franchise was in his destiny.
