We are quickly warming this morning from the 70’s into the 80’s. Buy midday, some areas will be approaching 90. Sunshine in place this morning will fade this afternoon under thickening clouds in advance of a prefrontal trough which is triggering a few scattered showers/storms in western/central NY. The increasing clouds will help to slow the warming. Hazy sunshine should last at our eastern facing beaches into the early afternoon before turning mostly cloudy. Dewpoints have been rising into the mid 60’s and will likely climb to near 70 before the day is through so a typical muggy summer day in July with highs in the upper 80’s and lwr 90’s.
Sunny skies this morning will give way to partly sunny skies this afternoon. Highs will climb into the mid 20’s, a few upper 20’s at the south coast. A good day to dress warm if outside for any time.
We are socked in the clouds this Sunday with cool onshore NE winds keeping temps running below normal. Very chilly at the coast with areas of drizzle and mist this morning. Temps at the beaches will likely remain in the 40’s and lwr 50’s. Farther inland a better chance of some warming into the 50’s and Lwr 60’s. with mid 60’s in the CT river valley. Mostly cloudy conditions will prevail, but there is the potential for a few breaks of sun in any thinner overcast this afternoon inland.
