With this morning’s low lifting north and east of the region, we will dry out as mentioned with North winds wrapping in around the departing low. However thanks to abundant cloud cover temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees in most locations with the “Hot Spot” being far southeastern MA where proximity to a warm front will allow temperatures to reach a balmy 65-67 degrees.
Friday’s clouds and seabreeze at the coast kept much of eastern MA in the upper 80′s to near 90, but will help prevent that official heat wave for many areas. Yet still, there are places […]
Near record warmth is likely today with a big upper level ridge along the east coast providing sunshine with highs climbing into the 60′s nearing 70.
Winds this morning are out of the SE. SW flow aloft is ejecting quite a moisture plume up the east coast keeping abundant cloud cover ahead of an approaching cold front. The heaviest precipitation has pushed offshore but lingering drizzle and fog in saturated airmass remains making for a very dismal day so far. Showers will try to redevelop moving from SW to NE right around midday as the front begins to push off the coast. Showers will linger into the early afternoon, then winds will shift to the SW behind the front. The drying and warming trend will develop this afternoon
Precipitation will start just before dawn on Friday and will be falling into marginally cold air near the ground making for an interesting forecast for Friday morning’s commute.
There are plenty of left over clouds this morning in SNH, western and central MA. Some of these clouds will push to the coast around lunch time along with the cold front. Winds will shift and pick up from the WNW this afternoon and temperatures will continue to free fall right through the evening with colder air draining in from Canada. Increasing sunshine later this afternoon with temps falling into the 30′s.
Cool filtered sunshine this morning with increasing high altitude clouds will give way to mostly cloudy skies this afternoon and warming temperatures into the 40′s. High pressure off the coast will wrap in warming SW winds…but the lack of sunshine will make it feel cooler. Keep a close eye on the radar today because we have quite a bit of rain just to our SW which is heading right to us for tonight. Clouds will thicken in advance of the rain this afternoon with showers arriving in western New England around sunset. Showers will be reaching the coast between 6-8 PM…
Bright sunshine with a slow moderation through the day with light WSW wind with highs in the 30′s to near 40. Clear skies tonight, not as cold..but still chilly with good radiational cooling with lows again dropping into the 20′s
There’s a plan out there to keep T service running longer on Friday and Saturday nights, but the MBTA doesn’t think it will happen.
A cold dome of air over us this morning will be slow to loose it’s grip on New England. A Busy breeze out of the SW will provide just enough motion to the air to make for a chilly day with highs in the Lwr 50′s with plenty of sunshine. High clouds will be pushing through during the midday for partly sunny skies at times.
