Daily Talker: Cell Phones On Planes

Federal regulators say rules banning the use of cell phones in airplanes are outdated, and it’s time to change them.

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission says the agency will will take up a plan to allow greater in-flight access to cell phones and mobile broadband at a meeting next month. Chairman Tom Wheeler, a former lobbyist for the cell phone industry, says modern technology can deliver mobile services in the air safely and reliably.
