Investigators want to move Nathaniel Kibby’s trailer and storage unit from his home but lawyers for Abby Hernandez’s accused kidnapper want it kept in place.
The man charged with kidnapping a teenager nine months ago is very bright, has strong opinions and thrives on conflict, according to a police officer who had two decades of contact with him.
Abby Hernandez is speaking out for the first time about the nine months she was missing.
Nathaniel Kibby of Gorham, N.H., was charged Monday with felony kidnapping.
Investigators are left with questions about how and why Abby Hernandez vanished after leaving her high school in Conway on Oct. 9 and who may have helped conceal her for so long. Law enforcement officers have repeatedly asked for the public’s help but have revealed very little.

Police have released a sketch of a man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of Abigail Hernandez in New Hampshire.
A 15-year-old girl from Conway, New Hampshire who was missing for nine months is now back home with her family. But investigators are saying little about what led to the safe return of Abby Hernandez on Sunday.
“The facts and circumstances surrounding Abigail’s disappearance continue to be actively investigated,” said a statement from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office. “Further details will be provided once it has been determined that releasing additional information will not compromise the integrity of the on-going criminal investigation.”
There were prayers for Abby Hernandez more than two weeks after she vanished without a trace.
