Wednesday’s Child
With “Wednesday’s Child,” news anchor Jack Williams is successfully increasing public awareness of the needs of children waiting for adoptive families. These children are primarily school-aged children, children of color of all ages, sibling groups and children who face intellectual, physical or emotional challenges. Watch Wednesday’s Child every Wednesday with Jack Williams on WBZ News at 6pm.
Williams works closely with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) in coordinating the program. MARE is a private, non-profit organization working in cooperation with the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, contracted private agencies and other New England agencies to find permanent homes for children waiting to be adopted. For more information on MARE, call toll free in Massachusetts 1-800-882-1176 or for the Metropolitan Boston area 617-54-ADOPT.
Learn more about The Jack Williams Endowment for Wednesday’s Child, which continues to raise funds for special needs adoptions.
