    Comedian Bill Burr is from Canton, David Lee Roth played basketball for Swampscott High, Howard Stern spent 4 years at BU (there are exterior shots of the school in “Private Parts”) and for honorable mention, Florence Henderson’s Carol Brady (from “the Brady Bunch”) was said to have grown up in Swampscott.

    Don’t forget Leonard Nimoy, Bobby Morse, Barbara Walters, and Jack Lemmon to name but a few. How far back do you want to go? Horace Mann? Anne Sexton? Massachusetts is the place where many important people have chosen to live, if only relatively briefly: Frederick Douglass, Ninoy Aquino, and Timothy Leary. I live in Arizona now, but am continually reminded of the greats that the Bay State has produced. Makes me proud to have been born and raised there.
