It looks like this will be a great Memorial Day with sunshine and temps climbing into the mid-upper 60′s. Great weather for the parades and honoring those that have given their lives for this country.
Where the sunshine has been this morning, highs will be climbing into the upper 60′s nearing 70 inland away from the coast this afternoon. Clouds will be on the increase ahead of a warm front which will begin to push into New England later today and tonight. This front will help to trigger showers by the mid-late afternoon inland. These showers will spread east tonight.
The jetstream is steering NW winds aloft supplying a comfortable dry airmass with fairly typical temperatures for this time of year with highs in the Lwr 70s inland, and cooling onshore winds at the coast keeping temps in the 60′s at the beaches. Sunny to partly sunny skies for Saturday.
Clouds are breaking in inland with partly sunny skies. I expect this clearing line to continue to work itself west to east during the day with brightening skies, sun and clouds in place for the afternoon. Clouds will linger longer across SE MA and the Cape & Islands. With the increasing susnhine, temps will climb inot the upper 60′s to near 70.
Ever wonder what the beginning of the Ice Age looked like?
More clouds than sun today, but there will be breaks of sun from time to time. Any considerable sunshine will easily spike temps to near 75, but for now I am playing it conservative with highs ranging from 70-75. We will have to watch for a few scattered light showers from time to time…but most of the day will be dry across eastern MA which should make it OK to be outdoors most of the time.
New England has another crystal clear day in the sunshine. Again the warm spots will be in western New England climbing to near 70 degrees or above. Vermont will again climb into the mid 70′s. Across eastern MA, it has been a bit more of a struggle. Light onshore winds off the 48 degree water is keeping considerably cooler at the beaches with highs again in the lwr to mid 50′s, while inland highs will be in the lwr to mid 60′s.
Wall to wall sunshine this weekend with gradually moderating temperatures heading into next week. Highs will be cooler at the beaches this weekend with light onshore winds keeping temps in the 50′s. Inland will feel much warmer away from the onshore wind with highs in the lwr-mid 70′s in northern and western England, and mid-upper 60′s nearing 70+ for the Worcester hills, to Metrowest, Merrimack Valley into SNH by Sunday.
Obviously, gorgeous weather today with highs near 70-75 in many inland areas this afternoon, especially outside 128 and 495. Winds will shift onshore for the SE for a cooling PM Sea breeze at the beaches.
High pressure sits over us today providing sunshine and warming temps into the 60′s near 70 farther inland. With light winds, an afternoon sea breeze will kick in to keep temps in the 50′s to near 60 at the beaches. A few high to mid level clouds will be sliding through during the afternoon for some filtered sunshine.
