David Caruso

Dave attributes his achievements in Financial Planning and Wealth Management to three core themes: experience, effective communication, and attention to the details necessary to manage money in a quickly changing world. Dave is in his third decade in the advisory business, having graduated with his BA in finance at UMASS Amherst in 1980 and subsequently earning his Certificate in Financial Planning. Through the years, Dave has steered hundreds of clients with hundreds of millions of dollars through two major crashes, five bear markets, 3 recessions, countless financial crises, and dozens of fads and trends in the investment world. Dave’s professional credo is “to educate and motivate people about money so that they can achieve their dreams.” Under his guidance, clients are kept on track to accomplish the things that are important in their lives, such as educating their children and grandchildren, retiring, and leaving a legacy to their loved ones. Dave’s skill has earned him the recognition of being named one of the top 100 advisors in the country in Mutual Funds magazine.

Dave’s talent for both communication and education is highlighted in numerous ways. He is co-author of books on personal finance and money management. Using straight-forward and often humorous discussions, these books explain the process of financial planning, as well as the world of investing and its effects on the investor.   Dave has been tapped as a resource and quoted in articles in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Boston Business Journal, Banker & Tradesman, Business Week, and Worth, among others.

Dave also hosts and appears on many regional and national television and radio stations, including CNN,, Bloomberg, MSNBC, Business Week TV, Fox News, and New England Cable News. Dave can be heard daily on WBZ-Radio 1030AM as the Financial Editor, reporting pre-market opening comments and the weekly recap.

In addition, Dave has served on the Board of the Boston chapter of the Financial Planning Association, and currently serves on the Board of Research ILD, an institute for children with learning disabilities. He has taught various courses at local colleges and continues to educate adults and children through his numerous seminars on the topic of money.

Dave lives on Boston’s North Shore with his wife of 22 years, Diane, and their two children, Alex and Laura.
