A fusion of the past, present and future, the Woodward is referred to as a "Modern Tavern".  The establishment resides on the second floor in the Ames Hotel, which is the reincarnation of Boston's first skyscraper completed in 1893.  It is sandwiched between the city's busy Downtown Crossing and Faneuil Hall areas.

Any night of the week you can see an eclectic mix of fashionable suits, models, industry insiders, trend setters, edgy rockers and celebrities inside.  The hotspot serves up a bevy of creative variations on your favorite standards like the Good Time Margarita infused with chamomile agave nectar and the Hemingway Daiquiri blended with Orinoco rum, maraschino and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Along with premier liquors, the recipes have fresh spices and herbs as some of the essentials ingredients.

These recipes are expertly handled by some of the best mixologists in the country, with an extensive history in the industry.  The tavern also serves a wide variety of boutique wines and beers from across the nation and region.

Woodward's environment, as with its drinks, is familiar and comfortable with an overtone of modern flair and artistry.  As you sip your cocktails in the high back leather chairs by the corner fireplace, you will notice the "Cabinets of Curiosity" which are explained as "Ben Franklin meets Supermodel" by the staff.  These sculptural pieces and libations symbolize the tavern and the hotel itself, a fusion of past, present and future.
