Best Winter Date Combos Ideas In Boston

- By Jaime Ganson

This winter there is no better way to stay warm then going on a date with a special someone.  Whether you are just getting to know one another or celebrating an anniversary, Boston is a beautiful city to take advantage of for a night on the town.  Here are three day dates and evening bar combos to share next time you are with your special someone.

Boston's Frog Pond in the Common is open all winter for your skating pleasure.  Start your date out with a Saturday afternoon skate. Adults are just $5 each for free skate, or try skating lessons by calling 617-78-SKATE.  After holding hands while trying not to fall and enjoying circling the rink, stop and enjoy some people watching before heading to dinner and drinks at the near by Beantown Pub on Tremont Street.  Named one of Boston's "most popular pubs", the Beantown Pub has TVs for catching the latest sports game and pool for playing a game or two.  To start, have a couple beers and a bucket of pigs in a blanket to share. To really warm up from the cold, order a hot toddy or mulled cider.

Theater Show & Wine Bar

The Boston Opera House in the Theater District is home to several musicals each year, including the Nutcracker every winter. If you are looking for a cultural date, catch either Green Day's American Idiot musical from January 24-29 or the classic Les Miserables from March 13-April 1.  An early evening show is a good excuse to get dressed up for a change.  After the show concludes, walk a mere twenty steps to BiNA Osteria, a chic wine bar for dining and drinking.  This European-like restaurant is set up like a lounge with white couches; while the BiNA Alimentari store for purchasing wine and food is next door.  Enjoy several wines by the glass or by the bottle from the United Sates, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany,

Bruins Game & Greatest Bar

If sports is more your thing, there is no better place than the TD Garden in the winter.  After our uber successful last season, Bostonians love their Bruins more than ever.  The streets surrounding the Garden off Causeway Street are packed each night before, during, and after the games with rowdy fans.  Enjoy a game with a few beers and your finest black and yellow, then head to one of the greatest, Greatest Bar. The Greatest bar combines the best of a dance club and sports bar with four floors of varying music and TVs. Drink one of their various beers on tap or cheers to the Bruins' win with the Beantown Ginger, a concoction of Jameson, ginger ale, and fresh lime & lemon juice.
