Well for 2011, “Rock-n-Roll Heaven” will be on Earth at the famed gritty rock club the Middle East in Cambridge, MA.

Pino Bros. Ink Tattoo and Prestige Worldwide will be hosting their 3rd annual NYE party that will surely be next to godliness!

The venue is fitting of an all out end of the year bash with bands like AC/DC (Letterday), Queen (The Organ Beats), the Clash (Cradle to the Grave) and Waltham “1999 Line Up” rounding out the bill.

With your entrance, you will be given a ticket which could net you part of the $1000 in cash and prizes given out during the night’s raffle drawings.

If you think you too sing like an angel then belt out a few tunes with the “live-band” rock-n-roll Karaoke competition from the band Flydown. You better work that crowd though or you could see a few devils in the room.

Jilian Fennimore will be on hand hosting the night’s progress toward the end of the year ball drop.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their saintly whites or as your favorite dead rock star. Don’t get stuck in purgatory this year and check it out!

Allston, Mass.

As the year comes to a close, Obrien’s Pub in the darkened end of Harvard Ave. in lower Allston will be saying FU to 2010.

The Expanded Spandex NYE Spectacular will be tearing up the venue in a true kick ass sendoff to a year that more than some found not too enjoyable.

The bands Skin Bridge (mem. of Ashers and Crash and Burn), Scumfuc Alley Trash (mem. of Razors in the Night, The Nose Jobs and The Acrobrats) and The Nose Jobs will be splitting your eardrums for the last time this year!

In between sets DJ LowWreck and DJ Fitness Freak (of the Spandex @ The Model Cafe) will be playing your favorite rock, metal, punk, funk, dance, rap, new wave and whatever else they can find to get you moving and shaking.

The customary free champagne toast won’t exist here for Narragansett Beer is sponsoring the night just so you can get your tall-boy drunk on.

Tickets are available online and at the door also.

So if you are looking to flip the bird to 2010, slide on into this spot.

OLIVER (Cask -n- Flagon)

Boston’s own all-female Aerosmith tribute band, Aerochixs will be performing all your local Boston bad boy favorites with Avalanche and Rosemary Casey on sax rounding out the bill.

What better way to end the year reflecting all that has past in church?

Well I can think of one way of having a better time at church… Go to Church of Boston Restaurant and Music Venue in the Fenway.

Once the shady Lynwood club, the revamped Church venue is host to an end of the year Royal and Rocking party!

The “Primetime” CD release by Boston band The Lights Out will be premiered by a grand performance by them along with the band Apple Betty and The famed Upper Crust headlining.

Now if you haven’t been in court with the majestic Upper Crust, be ready for a full on white wigs, powdered face and knee socks screaming out some legendary Rock-n-Roll.

The Boston Globe even picked this NYE event as a must see.

The entrance is only $20 and $25 at the door. This surely beats the over-priced clubs downtown, and the drinks are a hell of a lot cheaper too, since you are broke after Christmas!

So if your soul needs a little salvation after being naughty all year then pray to the Rock-n-Roll gods at Church and end your year on a grand note!

How about a little Love for the end of the year? I know that’s all I wanted.

Well this NYE you will get some straight up love, Stockholm style.

The Precinct nightclub in Somerville is host to a raucous party for your year end desires.

Housed in an old police precinct, this spot will make you want to get locked up for New Years Eve.

The folks at Hear Now Live promotions are putting together what has to be the cheapest love in town with the band Love in Stockholm Rocking in the background. This band is one part Blues Brother, two parts swagger.

For only $10 you can partake in free hors d’oeuvres all night ‘til the climax at midnight with a complimentary glass of champagne.

The venue is dark and steamy with great drinks and a modern twist on a underground speakeasy.

This will be surely a show to bring your special someone and show them what true sex appeal is all about this holiday! Do it!

  1. David Angelus says:

Officially formed in 2010, SEMITONE combines the musical creations of Brian Burke & Aaron Hoel. Growing up playing guitar, piano, violin, viola, & trumpet between them, Brian and Aaron were compelled to expand their capabilities by exploring music in the rock genre. This relationship produces a unique combination of old & new styles, mellow & driving riffs, and classic and grunge influences all wrapped into one dynamic sound.

They are available for gigs in Boston as well. You can check them out at
