How long will it take for America to tell Bank of America they have had enough?

I saw your piece yesterday morning about a Bank of America customer who has been paying for flood insurance herself and then was sent a letter by the Bank that they are placing flood insurance on her property – charging her the premium – and making a commission on the premium they are charging her – my story is a little different but concerns Bank of America as well. My loan was purchased by Bank of America in November of 2010; I have been sending my payments pursuant to my Modification Agreement; I have also been calling Bank of America since November of 2010 because they have been sending me dunning letters, I contacted them each time I got a letter and was told that it was just paperwork and that it would take 30 – 60, then 60-90, then 90 – 120 days for it to catch up – each time I was apoligized to and told not to worry – on February 22, 2011 I received a very strong language letter that basically said I was heading down the foreclosure path – I contacted the Bank and was told again not to worry – I requested that my concern be escalated to a manager – he said he would look into it and call me back within 7 days – now Bank of America has sent me a new Modification – has added $9,000 Dollars to the principal balance of the loan – due to a mistake that was made by the prior Lender – they have misappropriated the payments that I have been sending since November – which according to the Modification Agreement were to be applied to Principal, Interest, Taxes and Insurance, they sent the new Modification on February 28, 2011 in the evening and said it needed to be returned by March 8, 2011; I was told definitively that they would not honor my existing Modification on March 3, 2011; when I found that out I contacted the CEO’s Office of the Bank on March 3, 2011 and requested that my concerns be escalated – they assigned a person to my account who I spoke with on Friday March 4, 2011 I requested that the following concerns and questions be answered so that I could make a decision on what to do – I asked for an extension of time; for an explanation of the amount of money added to our Morrgage for our original Modification; an explanation about the new amount they want to add to the principal amount of our mortgage under the Modification they are proposing; I want the payments that I have made reapplied according to the original Modification Agreement as well as what they are going to do about the fact that since November of 2010 they have been telling me that I am all set. I have spoken to that person 3 times in 7 working days – our first conversation was to exlpain my above questions; our second was for me to get answers but there were none since my questions had not yet been asked, that was on March 8, 2011 (THE DUE DATE) the representative said that her managers strongly suggested that we sign the Modification and return it to the Bank – I said that I need the answers in order to make a decision; my next conversation was for her to tell me that she still had nothing but would contact me when she did – we are past our deadline – I have left messages and contacted other individuals but gotten no where – I know we are not the only people in this position but I am sick of being bullied by the Banking Systems in America – I got sick – was in a coma and have had 15 surgeries – it took two years to get the Modification from our original bank First Franklin; I have weathered many storms but am sick of being pushed around. PLEASE HELP! I need to get YOUR attention so that they will pay attention. EVEN THEY CAN GET ONLY SO MUCH BAD PRESS IN THE STATE WHERE THEIR CEO – BRIAN MOYNIHAN LIVES!!!

  1. That’s nothing. I got laid off by BOA, then they doubled the fee on my credit card, then they foreclosed on my house because I couldn’t pay the mortgage being out of work. Oh, and since my unemployment ran out, I am no longer counted as “unemployed” in the rate tallies. Making matters worse, BOA won’t hire anyone who has been out of work for more the a month.
