O’Brien was at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library on Thursday, where he was interviewed by Boston Globe film critic, Wesley Morris.

O’Brien, a Brookline native, recalled that old movies sparked his interest in show business. But his parents talked him out of it, so he focused on academics and got into Harvard. His future course was set when he became involved with the Harvard Lampoon, the school’s comedy publication.

O’Brien hosts “Conan,” a late-night talk show on TBS.

He’s also a member of the JFK library’s foundation and honorary chair of the foundation’s New Frontier Network, which works with young people to foster public service.

While reports have yet to been confirmed, the story has been picking up steam since it was first reported by the Brazilian magazine Epoca.

It’s just too bad that some places don’t know who Tom Brady is, or at least, what he looks like.

DNA (Daily News & Analysis), a daily English paper out of Mumbai, India featured their own blurb on the story. But instead of a picture of the three time Super Bowl Champ, they have Tom Brady, the English Rugby player, in a split screen shot with Bundchen.

American football must not translate well in India, but as long as Gisele hasn’t made the same mistake, all should be good in the Brady household.

According to Epoca, Bundchen has told several family and close friends of the pregnancy, and is roughly two months along.

Brady and Bundchen have been married since 2009, and had their first son, Benjamin, later that year.

Bundchen’s representatives have denied the reports.

O’Brien, a Brookline native and Harvard graduate, will also discuss the art of comedy with National Public Radio’s Scott Simon. Caroline Kennedy will introduce O’Brien at the forum, to be held Thursday evening.

O’Brien is a member of the board of directors of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and the honorary chair of the foundation’s “New Frontier Network,” which brings together young leaders committed to advancing President Kennedy’s ideals of civic engagement and public service to new generations.

O’Brien is the host of “Conan,” a late-night talk show on TBS.

BOSTON (CBS) – A father daughter dance is always special, but for a Mansfield family even more so.

The dance at the daughter’s Bat Mitzvah started with a simple dance to “My Girl,” but quickly evolved.

Mike Hanley and his daughter Jessica launched into a five minute routine featuring the music of Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson and more.

They performed everything from the running man to the Macarena.

Hanley says it was his wife’s idea.

The video has gotten more than 800,000 hits on YouTube.

Springsteen and the E Street Band announced Saturday that they were adding a second show on August 15, pending city approval.

The first show sold out quickly. Tickets for the second show will be available starting Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com, Etix.com, the Orpheum Theatre Box Office or by calling 800-514-3849.

BOSTON (CBS) – Disco legend Donna Summer has died. She was 63 years old.

Summer passed away Thursday morning after a battle with lung cancer, according to Boston City Councilor Charles Yancey.

A 5-time Grammy Award winner, Summer was born and raised in Dorchester. She starred in musicals at Jeremiah Burke High School.

Summer, known as the Queen of Disco, shot to superstardom in the ’70s with iconic hits like “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.” She continued her dominance in the ’80s with “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.”

She also sang God Bless America during Game 2 of the 2004 World Series at Fenway Park.

Summer holds the record for most consecutive double albums to hit #1 on the Billboard charts (three) and first female to have four #1 singles in a 12-month period; three as a solo artist and one as a duo with Barbra Streisand. She won 6 American Music Awards and 11 gold albums. It is estimated that Donna Summer has sold more than 130 million records worldwide.

Summer married Brooklyn Dreams singer Bruce Sudano in 1980. They had two daughters together.

Her family released a statement Thursday.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” said the statement.

Jeff Fitzgerald used “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” as his walk-on song at the Wisconsin Republican Party convention Saturday.

That got back to the band Sunday and they blasted Fitzgerald on their Facebook page with this statement:

The stupidity and irony of this is laughable. A Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senate candidate – and crony of anti-Union Governor Scott Walker – using a Dropkick Murphys song as an intro is like a white supremacist coming out to gangsta rap!

Fitzgerald: if you and your staff can’t even figure out your music you might wanna give up on the politics!!!!!

On Monday, Fitzgerald told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel he’ll stop using the song.

“I can’t believe it caused the stir that it did,” he said. “I won’t use it again.”

For the fall, TNT has added a new docu-drama about the Boston Police Department tentatively called “Boston Blue,” the network announced late last week.

The show will follow police officers from the Boston Police Department’s Gang Unit and the wide-ranging list of crimes they work to solve on a daily basis.

Donnie Wahlberg, a native of Dorchester, will serve as executive producer along with Julie Insogna-Jarrett and Seth Jarrett of the Jarret Creative Group.

“With Boston Blue, we’re looking to grab viewers who come to TNT for such blockbuster originals as The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We’re very excited about moving further into the realm of unscripted dramas with these outstanding additions to the TNT lineup.”

Springsteen and the E Street Band announced Friday on their website they’ll return Tuesday August 14, “pending final approval by the City of Boston.”

Springsteen played at Fenway back on September 6, 2003.

That show became the start of annual summer concerts at the ballpark, featuring other legendary performers such as Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffet and the Police.

BOSTON (CBS) – It’s not how you picture varsity Harvard athletes in their downtime.

But, as they explain it, this spring break, the Crimson baseball team spent a lot of time on the road. As a result they developed what ended up being an incredibly, surprisingly popular YouTube video.

“I think it’s funny because it’s just a group of normal guys having a good time to kind of a girly song,” explains senior Conner Hulse, who takes partial credit for directing and recording the lip-sync and choreography. “We’re talking about some pretty complex dance moves there.”

As the team headed to one of their games, they rehearsed the routine for “Call Me Maybe” about half a dozen times. The whole thing was meant to entertain their teammates who were riding in other vehicles. You need to see it to appreciate it – and more than 1.4 million people had done just that in the first three days the clip was online.

“We obviously never expected it to get this big,” says senior Jon Smart, a Belmont native.

Jeff Reynolds, another senior whose talents are showcased in the video, offers this explanation as to why the video went viral-and so quickly: “It plays against a lot of stereotypes of Harvard guys; we’ve having a fun time being totally goofy. I’m sure everyone thought we’d be reading books on the way.”

But all their silliness does have a purpose.

Once the team saw how popular the video was getting, they immediately posted a link in their YouTube page to the team’s charity, an organization called Friends of Jacyln.

It’s a group that pairs little kids who have brain tumors with college athlete role models.

A couple of years ago, the team adopted as one of their fellow players a South Shore boy named Alex, who was battling cancer. Now five-years-old, Alex still visits team practices and recently accompanied the team to the celebration of Fenway Park’s 100th anniversary.

“Once the video starting going viral, we thought why not give Alex some exposure, give Friends of Jaclyn some exposure,” says Smart. “It’s a great way to keep things in perspective.”

Team members say Alex’s mom has reached out to tell them he has seen the video – and he loves it.

“Hopefully we’ve been able to give him some happiness in his life, but really he’s given us more than we could ever give him,” says Reynolds.

MARBLEHEAD (CBS) – A plot twist out of Hollywood is making residents in Marblehead happy. Parents and coaches were concerned about a proposal to put an in-ground swimming pool and tennis court on the high school football field as part of a set for Adam Sandler’s new movie, “Grown Ups 2”.

At a Thursday night school board meeting, Columbia Pictures producer Barry Bernardi told a crowd, “I think maybe the wisest thing is to respectfully withdraw.” Parents and high school students in the audience erupted in applause.

“Ultimately it’s the kids who win, and the community’s better for it,” says Bruce Bial, who heads the town’s youth football program. He and others in town were concerned the field would not have been available for spring lacrosse games and football next fall.

It’s named Christopher Piper Memorial Field, after a Green Beret and Marblehead native who was killed in Afghanistan seven years ago. His son, who’s named after him, is a high school senior. “A lot of great memories here. I really don’t want them to tear it up for a movie scene,” he says.

Bernardi says producers don’t want to be anywhere they’re not wanted. They still plan to do filming at other locations in Marblehead for about three months. They’re now looking for a new spot, possibly a nearby home for their pool scene. “It’s a backyard set. We’re going to find a place to build a backyard set,” says Bernardi.

BOSTON (CBS) – The latest series of novels to take over the best-seller list is causing quite a stir. It’s a love story that women can’t seem to put down and to call it racy is an understatement.

It’s called ‘Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s self-published by E.L. James, a little known British author. The e-book was a best-seller before the print version even hit book stores.

The story is about a naive, young college student seduced by a handsome business tycoon named Christian Grey. Written by a fan of the Twilight series, some say this is Edward and Bella for grown-ups. “It’s the greatest book I’ve ever read,” one woman said outside a book store.

This is not your ordinary romance novel. It is sexually explicit in a way you don’t normally see on book store shelves. Some have even dubbed it, mommy porn. Whatever you call it, the book’s popularity proves there is clearly an appetite for it.

“Women haven’t really had the permission, for lack of a better word, to kind of explore that, let alone verbalize it, let alone read about it,” explained clinical psychologist Dr. Stacy Wadlington. According to Dr. Wadlington, it gives women a chance to explore their sexuality. She believes it also brings to light what women really want. “They want the alpha male to take charge. I have had many women come in and say, ‘where are the real men, the men who are really showing up for life’,” she said.

The fantasy man is a dominant billionaire, but according to Dr. Wadlington, it’s not as simple as women wanting money. Instead, she says, it’s about women wanting someone to take care of them. “Not so much as women giving up complete power, but the sense of having someone fulfill their needs. They want someone they can trust who can handle things, who can take charge, who have not lost the concept of what chivalry is,” she explained.

Some may argue sexual domination is not chivalry, but there’s no doubt “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is shaping up to be this year’s beach chair blockbuster.

BOSTON (CBS) – On Saturday, Boston’s biggest annual green celebration is being held: Artists For Humanity’s Greatest Party on Earth!

The art you will see is the collaboration of young artists with seasoned pros.

This year’s theme is inspired by the documentary film Vanishing Of The Bees.

The AFH EpiCenter will be transformed into a hive of art, energy, and entertainment for the evening. This program gives young artists the chance to see all aspects of their passion.

There will be a live band, samba dancers, aerial performers and great food and drinks.

All proceeds from the Greatest Party on Earth will support AFH’s Youth Arts Enterprise program.

Police identified the arrested man as Daryl Emmette Washington, 51, of Los Angeles, a private security guard at The Culver Studios lot.

Police Chief Don Pedersen said the break in the case came when the suspect pawned one of the guitars at a Hollywood pawn shop for $250.

“Mr. Petty would have joined us, but he’s preparing for a concert in Denver,” said Pedersen, who described the stolen guitars as collectively worth $100,000.

A message seeking comment from the band’s publicist, Jim Merlis, was not immediately returned.

The instruments were reported stolen last Thursday from The Culver Studios, a sprawling complex of soundstages west of downtown Los Angeles where Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers had been rehearsing for an upcoming tour.

The instruments were Petty’s blond 1967 maple 12-string Rickenbacker and his Gibson SGTVJunior, Mike Campbell’s blue Dusenberg, Ron Blair’s Fender Broadcaster and Scott Thurston’s 1967 Epiphone Sheridan.

On its website, the band offered a “no questions asked” $7,500 reward for information leading to the return of the instruments.

Their return comes as the band prepared to kick off their tour Wednesday in Broomfield, Colo.

The band is known for a string of hit singles, including “American Girl”, “Don’t Do Me Like That” and “Breakdown.”

Daniel Adams had initially pleaded not guilty to 10 charges including larceny and making a false claim against the state. He has also been ordered to pay nearly $4.4 million in restitution to the state.

A judge ordered Adams released Thursday on $10,000 bail until the start of his sentence on May 10. Adams was also ordered to surrender his passport and wear a GPS tracking device.

Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office had accused Adams of exaggerating expenses for two films shot on Cape Cod, “The Golden Boys” and “The Lightkeepers,” resulting in about $4.7 million in tax credit overpayments.

BOSTON (CBS) – Sometimes kids have a hard time expressing themselves, especially when it comes to dealing with difficult issues they’re facing. It seems art may help them.

An exhibit just opened at the Wheelock College Towne Art Gallery called, “Being Ubuntu: The Youth Speak.”

The college students are helping mentor these kids. Along with an artist, the children can express themselves in a form they can share and that will last forever.

BOSTON (CBS) – A rock legend went above and beyond to make a wish come true for a young fan Monday. Bruce Springsteen was in town for a concert at the TD Garden, and made one family’s night before the show even started.

Five-year-old Carter Bernhard suffers from Spina Bifida and wanted to meet “The Boss.”

So, the Make A Wish Foundation decided to make it happen. Carter traveled to Boston in a limo, had a VIP dinner and then a meet and greet backstage. Bruce also gave Carter an autographed guitar.

The Massachusetts and Rhode Island chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

The 43-year-old Brown was reportedly arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The report said he was being held at the Van Nuys jail.

Brown is the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, who died back on Feb. 11.

BOSTON (CBS) – Happy “Hunger Games.” The highly anticipated movie opened one minute after midnight this morning at theaters across the country. The film is based on a trilogy of books, however the film and books have a violent premise. Children are forced to fight to the death, to entertain the masses. Should you let your kids see it, or will the violence be too much to handle?

The Hunger Games story is told through the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen who is chosen to be one of the young combatants. “The kids are too young to be seeing stuff like that,” one mother of a pre-teen told us.

But what’s the big deal? After all tons of kids have already read the books. “Reading the book is not the same as watching the movie,” says Dr. Michael Rich who is the director of the Center on Media and Child Health at Children’s Hospital Boston. “When you go to a movie it’s a much more visceral and direct experience. You are seeing someone else’s imagination, you are hearing someone else’s imagination,” says Rich.

Since parents know their kids best, Dr. Rich suggests talking to them about the movie ahead of time and consider seeing it yourself. “And help him or her process it afterward and talk it through. Because these are big ideas and strange experiences for them and no matter how tough they act, they may not be prepared to handle it,” says Rich.

He also says the PG-13 rating is a relative thing. “In Great Britain they had to change the movie to get the equivalent rating to PG-13,” he says. And if you think your child won’t be able to handle the movie, you can always say no. One mom told us, “I just think there are a lot of other good movies out there to be seen so we don’t have to see one where kids want to fight each other to the death.”

A movie version of the second book in the series is already in the works.

BOSTON (CBS) – There are thousands of stories from Tuesday night’s power outage in Boston and viewers of “The Talk” may hear some of them in a couple weeks. Two of its hosts, Julie Chen and Aisha Tyler were in Boston promoting the CBS show.

“I survived the 1977 blackouts in New York City, I was seven years old at the time,” says Chen. “But it made for an interesting night.”

It’s a trip they will not soon forget, and they made it a memorable lunch for a group of women and one man, WBZ General Manager, Ed Piette at the Four Seasons Wednesday.

Chen says the show is “one hour of pure enjoyment” and she just wants people to laugh and have a good time.

“It’s not just froth,” says Tyler. “There is real value in the show.”

And the fan base is growing. The Talk, which airs weekday afternoons on WBZ, is heading into its third season with more than 2.5 million viewers every day.

Along with fellow hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood, Julie and Aisha put celebrity guests at ease, dish about their lives and talk about almost everything.

They say they’d like to come back and actually tape a show with the other hosts in Boston.

The receiver will be the star of a new VH1 reality show along with fiancee Evelyn Lozada called Ocho & Ev, according to TerezOwens.com.

The source is appropriate, considering Ochocinco’s previous reality show experience was alongside Terrell Owens on The Ultimate Catch, where Ochocinco starred in a Bachelor-esque competition, and later a talk show called The T.Ocho Show. Ochocinco also appeared on Dancing With The Stars, when he made it to the final four of the dancing competition.

Lozada, 36, is no stranger to reality TV, as she gained her fame on Basketball Wives as the ex-wife of Antoine Walker.

“Filming starts this spring and will document Evelyn and Chad’s upcoming wedding and new life together,” the report said.

Ochocinco, 34, is under contract for next season with the Patriots, though the team reportedly has asked him to restructure his contract, leaving his future with the team still up in the air.

BOSTON (CBS) – Steven Tyler says he is the reason that Aerosmith has been so successful all these years.

In an interview that will air Sunday on ’60 Minutes’ (WBZ-TV 7 p.m.) Tyler admits he has, at times, been harsh and a bit of a taskmaster towards the rest of his band mates.

But he also claims that he’s the reason the band has been around for 40 years.

“I’m going to be big-headed right now, okay? I think my perfectionism and my bustin’ everyone’s chops is what got this band to where it is today. In the end, I get a real good song. In the end, I get the hits. Yeah, I’m that good,” Tyler tells Lara Logan.

The band didn’t really disagree with him.

“When you ask what makes the band great, I think that it’s a combination of all of us, Steven making it greater,” says Joey Kramer.

Brad Whitford goes even further. “[Making the band great] takes somebody so over the top and in our case with our lead singer, Steven Tyler, who’s this amazingly gifted musician.”

“This band’s better than it’s ever been. It’s not because I’m old now and the band’s been around forever and it’s our last tour. Bull&*%#! It’s because this band is that good,” Tyler said.

Aerosmith was formed in Boston back in 1970.

All the World’s a Stage Players, a youth Shakespeare company, will be performing the play in Littleton.

The players are ages seven to 17 and are all home-schooled. Their goal is to introduce the great playwright to young people.

Sometimes it’s easier to watch then it is to read.

NEEDHAM (CBS) – A local mom just scored some big bucks for her child’s school and she got a big named singer-songwriter to help present the check.

Monday, Sara Bareilles was at Needham High School handing over a $10,000 check earmarked for music education.

Debra Baron entered the nationwide “Nice Job, Mom We Rock!” contest, honoring moms who keep their families’ health and happiness in perfect harmony, and won.

Bareilles says she’s thrilled to be involved.

“It was a huge blessing and huge gift for me to be a part of this program,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun.”

The pop star and famous talk-show host sat Wednesday in front of a group of more than 1,100 students, faculty and invited guests as Oprah interviewed Gaga about the foundation.

The singer said the foundation’s goal is to empower youth and inspire bravery. The foundation shares a name with her hit 2011 single and album, “Born This Way,” a song whose lyrics describe self-empowerment.

Earlier Wednesday, Lady Gaga caused a sensation on the Ivy League campus when she arrived in Harvard Yard in a sleek black dress, tall hat and platform shoes. She signed autographs and posed for photos as students yelled, “We love you, Lady Gaga.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had their third baby on Tuesday in Santa Monica, California, according to US Weekly.

The actors have been together for seven years. They already have two daughters: 6-year-old Violet and 3-year-old Serafina.

The new baby boy’s name has not been released.

At its core, “Salmon Fishing In The Yemen” is about making something seemingly impossible, a reality.

WBZ-TV’s Lisa Hughes spoke with actress Emily Blunt about the film and experience she calls “magical.”

“I think it’s a really uplifting film,” says Blunt.

The film starts with a dream. In the name of peace, a rich, Middle-Eastern sheik wants to introduce fishing to his homeland. It’s up to Harriett who works for him, played by Emily Blunt, to get Britain’s foremost expert to join the project; A hard-sell to say the least.

“She’s all goodness this character,” says Blunt. “I don’t know if I’ve played someone who exudes that kind of warmth and tenacity before.”

Hundreds of people turned out for the Boston premiere. While the film doesn’t open for weeks, the crowd at Loews Boston Common cinema got a first look at the chemistry between Blunt and co-star Ewan McGregor. The film was shot in and around London, in Scotland and in Morocco.

Costello, Rushdie, Simon, Keith Richards, Shawn Colvin, Peter Wolf and local novelist Tom Perrotta were all in attendance at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum when the late president’s daughter, Caroline Kennedy, opened the ceremony by quoting her father’s speech from the dedication of the Robert Frost library: “I see little that is more important to our country and our civilization than full recognition of the place of the artist. In serving his vision of the truth, the artist best serves the nation.”

The crowd in the packed auditorium quickly rose to its feet when Berry walked in, leading the celebrities to their seats.

After opening remarks by author Bill Flanagan, who reminded the crowd that it’s been 60 years since Berry’s hit “Maybellene” was written, Perrotta repeatedly made the audience laugh with his opening remarks peppered with famous song lyrics.

In introducing Cohen, novelist Rushdie spoke about the “great beauty and depth” of his work, saying: “To put it quite simply, if I could write like him, I would.”

Colvin paid tribute to Cohen by playing his song “Come Healing” on an acoustic guitar.

After receiving the award from Rushdie, Cohen thanked the jury in his honeyed, raspy baritone and paid homage to Berry, comparing Berry’s “Roll Over, Beethoven” to Walt Whitman’s “barbaric yawp,” from “Leaves of Grass.”

Flanagan read an email from Bob Dylan that said: “Congratulations to Chuck Berry, who has written the book with a capital B. Congratulations to Leonard, who’s still writing it.”

Simon introduced Berry, saying he was rightfully considered a “great poet of teenage life” but was much more than that. He went on to read and remark on the lyrics to what he called some of his favorite Berry songs, including “Maybellene,” ”Johnny B. Goode” and “Long Distance Information.”

Costello played Berry’s “No Particular Place to Go,” which he said he heard for the first time as a 10-year-old.

Simon hung the award medal on Berry’s neck and in a move that surprised the event organizers, the 85-year-old Berry picked up an electric guitar and played “Johnny B. Goode” to enthusiastic applause.

To close the show, Costello coaxed Richards out of the audience to play a duet of Berry’s “Promised Land,” bringing the crowd to its feet once again.

The Born This Way Foundation, a nonprofit named after the singer’s 2011 album, will address issues such as self-confidence, well-being anti-bullying, mentoring and career development through research, education and advocacy.

The foundation is partnering with The Berkman Center at Harvard, the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and The California Endowment to explore ways to create a culture of kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment.

A kickoff event is scheduled for Wednesday at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Harvard Law professor Charles Ogletree are also expected to attend.
