Aldon Smith has not recorded a sack in 5 games, and after recording 19.5 through 13 games, there is of course questions as to why the 49er’s single season sack king has failed to get to the quarterback as of late. An injured shoulder, and the absence of Justin Smith were a big part of it, and both of these issues have only gotten better, meaning that Aldon is primed to have another big day on Super Bowl Sunday, unless the Ravens decide to let another player beat them.
Joe Flacco has been one of the most criticized quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. And he isn’t even 30 yet. That’s a pretty impressive feat. Probably not as impressive as beating Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in back to back weeks in order to clinch a Super Bowl berth. But it’s pretty close. Flacco shows up in big games and gets the job done. It’s what makes him elite.
Stuck in the middle. That’s exactly where the family of John and Jim Harbaugh say they want to remain when the two brothers square off in the Super Bowl.
After being sidelined with a concussion earlier in the season, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith is handling an uncomfortable situation well, saying he is ready to back up Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl.
The Ravens came out of a three-game losing streak to make it to the big game in The Big Easy. December started off rough for the Ravens with consecutive losses to the Steelers, Redskins and Broncos. But as fate would have it, their lowest point became a turning point.
The San Francisco 49ers running back was fined $10,500 by the NFL on Wednesday after he wore his socks too low in Sunday’s NFC championship game at Atlanta, a uniform violation. It marked the second time he was fined this season.

It takes a heavy library of new and oldschool jams to keep today’s pro football players motivated, and to get their heads in the game before playing a formidable foe. Check out what these players listen to while getting pumped before a big game, or in this case, the Big Game.
The Ravens will play against a dynamic quarterback in Colin Kaepernick. He has the ability to beat you with his legs and his arm. If the Ravens want to walk away from New Orleans as Super Bowl Champions, they’ll need to contain him and a plethora of other weapons on the 49ers squad.
The Ravens have been the underdogs since the postseason started. No one outside the city of Baltimore predicted the Ravens to make it to the Super Bowl. Now that they’ve arrived, they will once again be the underdogs, but if this season is any indication, Baltimore has a great chance in pulling the upset.
For the San Francisco 49ers to complete their quest for a 6th Lombardi Trophy, they will have to beat the Baltimore Ravens. After falling one game short of the Super Bowl a year ago, the 49ers find themselves in unfamiliar territory, as the last time they were in a Super Bowl was 18 years ago. As a franchise, San Francisco is undefeated on football’s biggest stage, and although this is new ground for this specific team, they have to like their chances of keeping the winning streak alive.
