July 20-25, on average, is the hottest stretch of the year in New England so today will be another atypical July day with highs only slightly over 70 at the beaches to the upper 70s northwest of Boston.
Saturday’s edition of “Celtics @ 7″ explored a deeper, more balanced Eastern Conference and how the C’s fit in. Host Adam Kaufman argued the Celts are just one big move away from competing and even contending in a crowded conference that lacks a clear favorite but, unfortunately, that acquisition appears more unlikely by the day.
It was a sweet way to finish up a rain filled week…highs in the 70s and lower 80s…low humidity and lots of sunshine. The hope is that this weather will spill into the weekend and some of it will.

The new co-chief executives of the Market Basket supermarket chain are warning any workers who walk off the job today could be fired.
Employees loyal to former CEO Arthur T. Demoulas are pushing for his reinstatement. A message posted on a website set up by some of the protesting workers say 120 managers and office staff at the company’s headquarters in Tewksbury will walk off the job on Friday, and that a rally will be held at 10 a.m.
