Container Ship That Broke Free Returned To South Boston Pier

BOSTON (CBS) – A container ship that broke off its moorings during heavy winds earlier this week was brought back to its pier in South Boston on Friday.

The Helsinki Bridge came loose early Wednesday morning, hitting the Black Falcon Pier and causing some damage before drifting into Boston's outer harbor.

The Coast Guard is investigating.

Several people were on board the ship, but were able to get off safely before it drifted away.
