Boston's Best Upcoming Pet Adoption Events

Bostonians love animals, and there are many organizations and volunteer groups that help find, rescue and care for strays and lost or abandoned animals. They also help pair prospective pet-owners with the right pet for their family, and vice versa. Most sponsor, host or participate in fundraising, educational or other activities to help support their efforts. Here are just five of the organizations in the Boston area that will or expect to host such pet adoption events in November and December – and beyond.
Pet Love
Newtowne Grille
838 Post Road
Billerica, MA 01821
(978) 667-0021
www.newtownegrille.com

Dates: November 22, 2:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Although Pet Love's main purpose is to put pet-owners in contact with reliable, trustworthy pet sitters, dog walkers and pet taxi services, it also raises funds for many animal causes, including research into combating animal illnesses and treatment for animals suffering from partial paralysis and other disabilities. It also helps those willing to adopt such a disabled animal, or those animals in need of adoption. In November Pet Love will be running a day-long event at the Newtowne Grille in Billerica just north of Boston to raise funds for those causes, and to offer advice and information to those seeking to adopt or care for a disabled pet.

Check for such events at www.lasthopek9.org/events

Great Dog Rescue New England
www.gdrne.com

Almost every month Great Dog Rescue New England sponsors an event to help put rescue dogs and adoptive or foster parents together, or to raise money to help save at risk dogs. On November 12, for example, they were part of the "Pumpkin Fest" at Boston Harley Davidson in Revere. Although they have no street address or phone number, the GDRNE can be contacted through their website, and their members will help point people to the next such adoption event, or provide information or help to those either seeking to donate to their cause or to become involved, as well, of course, as to helping anyone who wants to adopt for foster a rescue dog.
