Firefighters Rescue Dog Locked In Car On Newbury Street

BOSTON (CBS) – Firefighters rescued a dog that was locked inside a car on Newbury Street Saturday afternoon.

At about three o'clock, firefighters were alerted to the BMW with the dog inside. Firefighters responded and called animal control.

It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to get the dog out of the car.

Temperatures in Boston reached 78 degrees on Saturday. A crowd of people who gathered to watch the rescue cheered after the dog was removed from the car.

The owner did not show up and the dog is now with animal control. Charges are not expected to be filed.
