NightSide - The Latest on the Las Vegas Shooting

BOSTON (CBS) - Many around the country woke up this morning to the terrible news of another mass shooting, this time in Las Vegas, Nevada. The gunman, now being identified as Stephen Paddock, fired into a crowd at an outdoor country music festival from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay tower. The attack killed at least fifty-eight people and wounded hundreds more. Tonight, WBZ will bring you live updates with the latest information on the shooter and the investigation throughout the night. We'll also check in with former WBZ TV News Anchor Jack Williams, who lives in Las Vegas, to get a sense of how the city is dealing with the immediate aftermath of the tragic massacre. Later, we'll hear from former Bruins play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher, who drove by the concert just an hour before the shooting began. We'll also talk with Stop Handgun Violence founder John Rosenthal about how we could try to prevent these types of mass shootings. Then Dan will be joined by psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow, who will discuss the factors that might push someone to carry out this type of attack, and what survivors will be dealing with after an incident like this one. Lastly, we'll check in with former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis to get his thoughts on the shooting. How do we stop mass shootings without restricting access to guns? Do you think about this type of violence when you go to a large event or gathering? Does the media blow these types of attacks out of proportion to push its liberal gun control agenda?
